Zinnia

Zinnia had a zest for life,

but that was not always the case.

She once lost it somewhere along the way,

like it had evaporated without a trace.

So she set out on a jarring journey

that took her high and low

to find this vanished vigor

and rekindle her earthly glow.

After steadfast searching, she found it hiding

in a place she’d never seen,

as if waiting for her to find it,

nestled amongst the things between.

This taught her a valuable lesson

about facing what feels daunting:

that to persevere and proceed as the path opens,

your courage must find you walking.
